Fall Colors

My muse and I took a break today. Instead of staring at a computer screen, DH and I took Georgia on a drive to Mount St. Helens and enjoyed the fall colors.

Happy sigh. The care and feeding of a muse requires dates with the beauties of nature, and today was a perfect day to indulge. Clear blue skies; crisp, cool weather; and unparalleled scenic beauty that’s too close to home to ignore.

The bigleaf maples were stunning. We saw entire golden forests on our drive. I spent too many years in the evergreen world of Montana and Colorado not to be stunned by the sight.

I’ve barely been home an hour, and already the muse is pestering me with a story idea…inspired by the magic of the woods in autumn…I can hardly wait!
