Puzzler Friday – Balloch Castle

I love castles. I have a book on castle architecture and I love finding pictures of castles. Especially castles of the British Isles. So when I ran out of cover art puzzles, I was thrilled to find this one…

Think of it as a promise of things to come. After all “The Silver Casket” is a time-travel historical set in medieval Scotland…and there’s a castle involved!

Have fun and be sure to report your time in comments!

Tuesday Cuteness for the End of May

I’m in the middle of changing my living arrangement in order to give one of my “chicks” some temporary support, so perhaps today’s Tuesday Cuteness was inevitable…

This 'n That

First up–a bit of good news: I sold The Silver Casket to Freya’s Bower!

Yay!! Hooray!! Let there be dancing in the streets!!

I can hardly wait to see my cover art *shiver*

Next, my BFF and I enjoyed a Girls’ Day Out yesterday. On the agenda was a movie, lunch, and shopping for quilt fabric *happy sigh*

The movie we chose was Star Trek. LMS and I grew up with Star Trek and watching this movie made us feel like girls again, so you’ll have to excuse me while I channel my inner excited teen…

O.M.G!!!!! I totally LOVED this movie! The casting was genius. The alternate time line was absolutely BRILLIANT (and I’m hoping it means many more movies). Loved, loved, loved the Spock / Uhura connection. TOTALLY loved that she chose Spock over Kirk (which NEVER would have happened in the original series *LOL*) And having Nimoy in the movie was perfect. Too cool for words.

Can’t wait to see it again!

Okay. Returning to the land of adults now…

Finally, I took a big step this week and joined SCBWI, the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. It struck me that if I’m going to write Young Adult fiction, I should find out what their professional organization is all about. I’m still in the discovery phase. I’ll let you know how beneficial I find it.

That’s all for now. Hope your weekend is fabulous!

Puzzler Friday – Dreams & Desires

Wow! I’ve reached the last of my cover art puzzles. At least until The Silver Casket comes out *LOL*

Today’s cover is for the original Dreams & Desires anthology. Freya’s Bower has turned this charity anthology into a yearly event. The stories and artwork are donated and all profits from each volume go to a center for victims of domestic violence. I hope you’ll follow the link and check these anthologies out. Excellent stories supporting an excellent cause!
