Quilts and Design Walls

In my Kristi Lundrigan novel, Delectable Mountain Quilting, I talk about Kristi laying out fabrics on her design wall. I thought I’d show you what I mean. We installed flannel covered Homasote board on one wall of my sewing room. Quilt blocks or pieces of fabric stick to the flannel, allowing the quilter to see the design before she sews.

Here’s my design wall in use for a color wash quilt that will be king-size when complete.
