I’m home! Spent a fabulous long weekend on the east coast with my daughter, which included a bonus day thanks to the airlines…or the weather, depending on how you look at it *lol*
Daughter took me to the airport at the appointed time on Monday, dropped me off, and drove away after heartfelt hugs. The problem occurred when I tried to check in and discovered that my flight had been canceled due to weather issues. Oh, they could get me on another flight, but it would get me to Atlanta an hour AFTER the last flight to Portland left *sigh* AND because the problem was weather-related and out of their control, they wouldn’t cough up for a hotel room in Atlanta *double sigh*
Being the wise woman that I am, I asked if we could just do the whole trip on Tuesday instead. Fortunately, they accommodated that request. So, I called my daughter and she returned to retrieve me for my bonus night!
Tuesday was a long day of sitting in cramped airplanes, but that’s the cost of flying coast-to-coast.
Note to self: Keep your shoes on in the airplane!
Yes. I slipped out of my Berkies during the long flight from Atlanta to Portland and managed to push the right one so far forward that it was lost in the next row of seating *headdesk* Had to ask the flight attendant to retrieve it once we started deplaning. Nothing like feeling like an idiot in front of a plane full of people anxious to leave.
So, I’m happily home again.
And since I didn’t announce it last Friday when I was rushing to leave town:
Thunderbird is now in my agent’s capable hands!!!!!
Please think good thoughts for my tale of twins and totem animals *crosses fingers* I really hope she likes it and wants to take it on…
