We are dog lovers. We love cats too, but dogs… well, what can I say?… they’re DOGS!
Hubby and I started our life together with our “pre-marital puppy” – Mr. Woodruff, Woody for short. We were both living in college dormitories when Woody came into our lives, but we managed to talk friends into giving him sleeping space until we returned from our honeymoon. Woody was a Heinz-57 dog, the cutest little mongrel you can imagine, and we had him for far too short a time. But he taught us a lot about loving and caring for a dog in his short life.
Since Woody, we’ve had many other dogs. Cinnamon Sugar Cookie, the miniature poodle we bought as a gift for hubby’s parents; an unasked for gift who none-the-less became their beloved companion. Ebony Marie, a well-loved miniature poodle. Kodiak Kootenai, a beautiful Alaskan malamute who could pull our whole family on a dog sled – and taught our kids about birth and motherhood with her eight puppies! Tomten, yet another miniature poodle, this one a male who desperately wanted to establish dominance over our children.
And finally, these faithful and well-loved creatures:
Diamond. Our Dalmatian; the most energetic, head-strong dog we ever owned.
Angus MacDubh. A gorgeous black lab. Technically our grand-dog, but well-loved by us.
Georgia. Our bull mastiff and the best dog in the world.
Angel. A sweet Dutch shepherd. She’s our current fur-baby and a worthy successor to Georgia.
