Oh, the places I’ve lived…

Here I am with my 5 older brothers and the family dog.

I was born in southeast Kansas, in the little town of Coffeyville. Coffeyville’s claim to fame was that in October 1892 the Dalton Gang died during a gunfight in its streets. The Dalton’s attempted to rob two banks simultaneously, but the citizens of Coffeyville prevailed and all but one member of the gang was killed.

Before I reached school age, my family moved to northeast Oklahoma. Tulsa to be exact. Tulsa was all of about 75 miles away, but Coffeyville was a small town, while Tulsa was a big city and over the state line, so the move was a shock to the family’s system.

From Tulsa, we made a huge leap to upstate NY. Wow! Talk about culture shock. I was in high school when we moved to Batavia, NY and everything about me was unusual, from my Okie accent to my “never met a man I didn’t like” attitude. (Thank you, Will Rogers!) A persistent nick-name (thanks to my best friend’s older brother) was “six guns.” Yeah. Right.

Okay. Enough of my personal history. Where else have I lived since those much earlier years?
1. Enid, OK
2. Geneseo, NY
3. Gooding, ID
4. Bartlesville, OK
5. Bozeman, MT
6. Belgrade, MT
7. Longmont, CO
8. Vancouver, WA

So, let’s see… that’s seven states I’ve lived in, not to mention all those I’ve visited. Unfortunately, my international travel is limited to Canada and Mexico. Yep, I’m a continental kind of gal… the North American continent, that is *LOL*
