Michael Hedges

Wow. Talk about a blast from the past. I just learned that a friend from my Phillips University undergrad days has a new website. Now that may not sound all that exciting, but this particular friend (a spectacularly talented musician) died 24 years ago. So hearing that his family has set up a website to celebrate his music and his life was both surprising and wonderful.

Check out the Michael Hedges website and store!

Besides being a friend, I had other ties to Michael’s family. His dad, Dr. Thayne Hedges, was my major professor at Phillips. Believe it or not, I studied speech pathology and audiology and trained at a center named for Dr. Hedges: Hedges Regional Speech and Hearing.

Here’s a picture of Dr. Hedges from the center’s website:

And one of Michael from his new site:

Rest in peace, gentlemen. You are remembered well.
