Over the years I’ve done lots of crafts. Needlepoint, crewel, counted cross stitch, quilting. If you can name a needle art, I’ve probably at least tried it. I’ve also done lots of machine work. Quilts (again), dolls, soft toys, clothing, even window blinds. If it’s fabric-based, I’m likely to have played with it.
One of the arts I most enjoyed involved a rather lovely sewing machine that had an attachment for machine embroidery. I was so wrapped up in it at one point that I bought design software and even created a few embroidery designs of my own. But mostly, I enjoyed buying other artists’ patterns, selecting my pallete of colors, and letting the machine work its magic. One of my favorite designers created soft children’s books. Here are a few photos of her designs and my machine’s work. (Obviously, this one was for a little girl. I also did one for little boy, but failed to get pictures of that one *sigh*)
