Covers and Newsletters and Writing, Oh My!

I had the delightful experience of waking up with a story scene fully formed in my mind! I love it when that happens 😀

I’d had a title in the back of my mind for a couple of years, but no idea who the characters were who belonged to that title. At long last, they showed up along with an opening scene. Can you say, Happy Camper?

Once that scene was safely written down, I turned to the day’s assigned tasks… getting my newsletters ready to go out. I send two each month; one for Deb Logan and one for Debbie Mumford. (If you’d like to join either or both, just click on the appropriate name, enter your email and check the little box!)

In setting up Deb’s newsletter, I realized that I’d never finalized the cover for a story I intend to publish later this month! So… stop the presses! Get that cover designed! My husband is a great help in that process, pointing out things I often don’t notice. His early training shines through… his mom was an artist and like any child, he soaked up tips about lighting and color and composition almost by osmosis.

Once the cover was complete, I returned to my newsletters and got both of them scheduled. Fun stuff!

Just because I can, here’s the new cover…

About Debbie

Debbie Mumford specializes in fantasy and paranormal romance. She loves mythology and is especially fond of Celtic and Native American lore. She writes about faeries, dragons, and other fantasy creatures for adults as herself, and for tweens and young adults as Deb Logan.

  1. Deb, if I may ask, what software you use to design your book covers? Thank you!
