First up–a bit of good news: I sold The Silver Casket to Freya’s Bower!
Yay!! Hooray!! Let there be dancing in the streets!!
I can hardly wait to see my cover art *shiver*
Next, my BFF and I enjoyed a Girls’ Day Out yesterday. On the agenda was a movie, lunch, and shopping for quilt fabric *happy sigh*
The movie we chose was Star Trek. LMS and I grew up with Star Trek and watching this movie made us feel like girls again, so you’ll have to excuse me while I channel my inner excited teen…
O.M.G!!!!! I totally LOVED this movie! The casting was genius. The alternate time line was absolutely BRILLIANT (and I’m hoping it means many more movies). Loved, loved, loved the Spock / Uhura connection. TOTALLY loved that she chose Spock over Kirk (which NEVER would have happened in the original series *LOL*) And having Nimoy in the movie was perfect. Too cool for words.
Can’t wait to see it again!
Okay. Returning to the land of adults now…
Finally, I took a big step this week and joined SCBWI, the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. It struck me that if I’m going to write Young Adult fiction, I should find out what their professional organization is all about. I’m still in the discovery phase. I’ll let you know how beneficial I find it.
That’s all for now. Hope your weekend is fabulous!
